Steven Hack 23 - Keep track of chores and favors.

We have a lot of innovative users. One of them is Viktor. He is a great copywriter and he and his friends have come up with a great concept. They simply use Steven to keep track of “time owed” for chores and favors.

Let us explain with an example. Viktor’s neighbour Jack has helped Viktor with contractual questions when buying a house. Jack spent about 4 hours in total. Instead of paying Jack for the time, Jack and Viktor created a group in Steven where every hour is equivalent to 1 USD. This means that after the house purchase Viktor is 4 USD down. But Jack then needed help to update his homepage. Viktor helped out and proofread all the copy for Jacks new website. It took Viktor 4 hours, he inputs the hours in Steven and him and Jack are even again. Please notice that “swapping services” in some cases have tax implications.

This of course works for a lot of different situations. It would be an easy way to keep track of “time owed” for chores and tasks in a dorm, band or club. Simply create a group called “chores” and start track time spent on shared responsibilities.

But why stop there? We believe that keeping track of “unpaid” work in the Steven app might do wonders to your relationship as well. It is a proven fact that we over evaluate our own contribution towards others. This phenomenon is called self serving bias and we bet that it applies to you and your partner as well. Start tracking time and prove us wrong or improve your self awareness and improve your relationship.
